Motorcycles are ingrained in the Draycott bloodline. The lineage dates back to 1963 when James “Chief” Draycott showed up at the family house on a brand new Zundapp Super Combinette 515 motorcycle. His sons were in awe of the motorcycle’s rumble, sound, and capabilities. This love and passion for two-wheeled machines have transferred to Dawson, the third-generation motorcycle enthusiast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dawson\u2019s journey began at eighteen months old, with a set of training wheels and a rope tied to the back of his Suzuki JR50. He soon made his way through the amateur ranks and set his sights on the professional series. Unfortunately, Dawson ended up tearing his ACL, MCL, and LCL in his knee right before the beginning of the season. After riding through the pain multiple times, he made the choice to have surgery to repair the damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During recovery, Dawson was faced with the decision of going to college or finding support to fund his racing efforts. He decided to step away from motorcycles altogether and pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dawson graduated in December 2019 and bought a brand-new motorcycle in January 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fire and passion for racing motorcycles still burned deep. Since then, Dawson has acquired both his Pro Motocross and Supercross licenses. He was able to qualify on his very first try for a Pro Motocross National at Ironman in the 450 class. In addition to his racing, Dawson has become U.S. Motorcycle Coaching Association certified and enjoys sharing his knowledge with the next generation of two-wheeled enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dawson resides in Houston, TX with his wife Samantha (Sami) and their dogs Lola and Kai.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
